The 2025 Met Gala, themed “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” was a celebration of elegance, heritage, and innovation. The event honored Black fashion history and craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from Monica Miller’s book Slaves to Fashion. The red carpet showcased a blend of bold statements and refined tailoring, with celebrities embracing the theme through their attire.

Teyana Taylor 

Teyana Taylor wowed everyone at the 2025 Met Gala with a powerful and stylish outfit. She wore a deep burgundy three-piece suit with pinstripes, designed with the help of Oscar-winning costume designer Ruth E. Carter. Her look included a dramatic cape with the words “Harlem rose” on it—a tribute to her hometown and her song Rose in Harlem.

She finished the look with red gloves, a feathered hat, a cane, and sparkling jewelry. The whole outfit was bold, meaningful, and perfectly fit the night’s theme of celebrating Black style and tailoring. Many fashion critics even said she was the best dressed of the night.

Rihanna in Marc Jacobs

Rihanna made a memorable entrance in a custom Marc Jacobs ensemble that not only aligned with the evening's theme but also served as a personal announcement—she revealed her third pregnancy. The look was a masterclass in structured elegance, featuring sharp tailoring that highlighted her silhouette.  

Zendaya in Custom Louis Vuitton

Styled by Law Roach, Zendaya donned an ivory Louis Vuitton suit inspired by Diana Ross's 1975 film Mahogany. The ensemble featured a bold hat and impeccable tailoring, capturing the essence of modern dandyism.  

Diana Ross in Ugo Mozie

At 81, Diana Ross graced the Met Gala in a gown designed by her son Evan Ross and Ugo Mozie. The dress featured an 18-foot feathered shawl embroidered with the names of her children and grandchildren, symbolizing a deep personal legacy.  


Angela Bassett in Burberry

Angela Bassett's debut Met Gala appearance was marked by a Burberry ensemble that exuded confidence and power. The outfit included a blue-and-black vine-jacquard velvet tuxedo cape, tailored trousers, and a sheer blouse, all complemented by Messika jewelry.  

Gigi Hadid in Custom Miu Miu

Gigi Hadid's custom Miu Miu halter-neck gown in gold velvet paid homage to designer Zelda Wynn Valdez and entertainer Josephine Baker. The dress featured gold and crystal embroidery, draped elegantly at the hips.

Jennie's custom Chanel ensemble featured a black leather and satin strapless jumpsuit adorned with pearled cabochon buttons. The outfit was accentuated with two strings of pearls and Chanel's signature white camellia, embodying the "tailored for you" theme.

Colman Domingo embraced modern dandyism in a Thom Browne suit, exemplifying the evening's theme through sharp tailoring and distinctive style.  

Cardi B in Burberry

Cardi B turned heads in a striking green Burberry ensemble, debuting a new hairstyle and eye color that complemented her bold outfit.
